Catholic Coloring Page: Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego in Mexico in the year 1531. Mary is Our Lady of Guadalupe. She showed Juan Diego a bed of roses, even though it was winter. When Juan Diego took the roses to the bishop, a miracle happened. The image of Mary miraculously stayed on Juan Diego’s cloak. This was proof of a miracle for the bishop. The image, and the Gospel, spread throughout Mexico.

Mary appears often in different forms. She dresses and speaks to people in their own cultures. Mary helps lead us to Jesus, just as she helped Juan Diego lead a lot of the mexican people to Jesus.

“And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.”Revelation 12:1
